Lambrini Girls Announce Second Album, No Refunds

Lambrini Girls will release their second album, No Refunds, on January 15 through City Slang.

The Brighton duo have also shared new single “Bang Bang Bang”, following “Cult of Celebrity”, which arrived earlier this year.

The new record will contain 11 tracks and takes in some of the subjects that have become closely associated with Lambrini Girls, including reproductive rights, the manosphere, AI, fascism and genocide. Musically, the band have described the record as moving beyond the straight-ahead punk of their earlier work, bringing in heavier and more industrial elements alongside the noise and urgency of their live shows.

The album follows Who Let The Dogs Out, which established Phoebe Lunny and Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez as one of the more visible names coming out of the current UK punk scene.

Their rise has been particularly noticeable onstage.

Over the past year, Lambrini Girls have moved between clubs, festivals and increasingly large support slots, including shows with Iggy Pop. They have also been booked alongside Bikini Kill, with a date at Brooklyn Steel in New York coming up on September 25.

The band's live reputation has become a significant part of their identity. There's little separation between what happens on the records and what happens in a room with an audience: the songs are loud, confrontational and built for a crowd rather than a quiet listen through headphones.

That audience is about to get considerably bigger.

Lambrini Girls will take No Refunds on a UK and European tour next year, beginning at Cambridge Junction on March 4. The UK run includes Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Belfast before finishing at London's Roundhouse on March 19.

The European dates continue in May, with shows scheduled across the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France and Belgium.

For a band that has built much of its reputation through live performance, the timing makes sense. By the time the tour starts, No Refunds will have been out for almost two months and the new songs will have had time to find their place alongside the material that got Lambrini Girls here.

The album is out January 15.

The tour starts March 4.

Expect the volume to remain high.
