Blondie Announce First Album in Nearly a Decade With Johnny Marr Collaboration

Blondie will release High Noon on 26 February 2027, marking their first studio album since 2017’s Pollinator. The announcement arrives alongside ‘Spectral Eyes’, a new single written and performed with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.

The 13-track record brings together a varied group of collaborators, including Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, Beirut frontman Zach Condon, and Lucius vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. John Congleton, who produced Pollinator, returns behind the desk for the new album.

Marr’s involvement is particularly notable given his previous connection with Blondie. He contributed to Pollinator, and his return for High Noon extends a relationship that now spans both records. Rather than presenting the album as a straightforward return to the band’s earlier sound, frontwoman Debbie Harry has described it as a meeting point between Blondie’s history and the influences shaping the group now.

The album was completed before the death of drummer Clem Burke in April 2025. Burke had recorded drums for the sessions, making High Noon a release that also preserves his contribution to the band’s continuing story.

Blondie’s last studio album, Pollinator, arrived in 2017 and featured collaborations with artists including Marr, Joan Jett and Nick Valensi of The Strokes. The new record follows a lengthy gap between albums, with recording sessions for High Noon beginning in 2022.

‘Spectral Eyes’ is available now, ahead of the album’s release next February.
