CHALK Release ‘Heaven/Hell’ Featuring Phantogram’s Sarah Barthel
The Belfast duo share a two-part music video and interactive online experience as they begin their European arena tour with Fontaines D.C.

Belfast duo CHALK have released new double single ‘Heaven/Hell’, featuring Phantogram vocalist Sarah Barthel and Belfast producer cosign on ‘Heaven’. The release arrives as the post-punk and electronic pair begin their run supporting Fontaines D.C. on their UK and European arena tour.
‘Heaven’ and ‘Hell’ are accompanied by connected music videos directed by CHALK’s Benedict Goddard. Conceived as an old-school cinema double feature, the visuals explore fallen angels and the space between the two opposing ideas, with an intermission separating the tracks.
“We’ve always wanted to make a double music video if we ever released an A/B-side, so this felt like the perfect opportunity,” Goddard explains. “We were really drawn to the idea of fallen angels, exploring the contrast between heaven and hell, and the space somewhere in between.”
The release also comes with an interactive microsite that invites fans to choose between Heaven and Hell. Each route features challenges, hidden content and exclusive audio-visual material, extending the concept beyond the songs and videos.
The new tracks follow CHALK’s debut album Crystalpunk, released earlier this year. The record brought together industrial textures, techno rhythms and post-punk, reflecting the duo’s connections to both Belfast’s dance floors and the wider guitar scene. It reached number one on the UK Dance Albums Chart and received five-star reviews from NME and Dork.
Formed by vocalist and producer Ross Cullen and musician and filmmaker Goddard, CHALK have built their reputation around a sound that moves between abrasive guitars and club-focused electronics. Their live shows have helped carry that approach to audiences beyond their hometown, with the Fontaines D.C. tour set to put them in front of arena crowds across Europe.
The tour begins in Lisbon today, 21 October, before continuing through Europe and reaching the UK in November. UK dates include M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on 20 November, AO Arena in Manchester on 21 November, First Direct Arena in Leeds on 24 November, Utilita Arena Birmingham on 25 November and The O2 in London on 27 November.
‘Heaven/Hell’ is out now via ALTER Music.
