The Wombats Announce 20th Anniversary Tour for Debut Album
The Wombats will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation, with a UK and European tour in April 2027. The band will perform the 2007 record in full before playing a second set of hits and fan favourites.
The tour begins in Paris on 1 April, followed by dates in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. The band will then return to the UK for shows in Manchester, Glasgow and London, finishing with a special hometown performance at Liverpool's Arts Club on 18 April.
Released in 2007, A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation helped establish The Wombats as one of the defining bands of the late-2000s British indie scene. The album features some of their best-known songs, including “Let's Dance to Joy Division”, “Kill the Director” and “Moving to New York”.
The anniversary shows will revisit the album in its entirety, followed by songs from the band's five subsequent studio albums. These include This Modern Glitch, Glitterbug and Fix Yourself, Not the World, which became their first UK number one album in 2022.
Their most recent release, Oh! The Ocean, reached number four on the UK Official Albums Chart, continuing a career that has taken the Liverpool trio from indie clubs to major headline shows.
